A man, Air, and A planet

I hike a short distance to sit by a tree
On a hilltop to gaze at the crimson sky. A sky that is about to witness
An assassination of its radiance. //

And what would I do there,
When the sun lurches to kiss zenith,
Except to sit idly and lick my wounds to revive the lyrics of a life,
For I am a lonely man of this lonely planet. \\

Air that blows past the face —
The face that has learnt and learnt well —
To bypass words or wounds with a fickle smile —
Makes me romantic about how it plays with my hair. //

I am a loner, but who are you, dear air?
Why did you stop by to play with my hairs and head?
Particularly my head that is lost in couple of memories and fantasies,
For I am a lonely man of this lonely planet. \\

What does restless air —
Whisper in my ears —
Is all I wonder this evening.
Air that spreads in my lungs and veins
Perhaps reached before to the minds and hearts of many.
But what does it really whispers in my ears —
While my heart labors to circulate
All the stories that air carried with it? //

What do you want to confess, sir?
That I died yesterday —
That I will die again tomorrow?
But death is how I yearn to efface all the illusions in my head,
For I am a lonely man of this lonely planet. \\

So are you poisoning or pouring a life into me, dear air?
What does it matter, I ruminate?
For you’re a vehicle —
A vehicle of stories —
Stories from different ages and entities —
A vehicle that will little by little lull me with existence —
And little by little drive me to extinction. //

I sniffed you regardless, dear air,
To corrupt my every suffocating cells with life.
Then you died to revive my cells.
Some of my brain cells, energized and revamped by you,
Hurtle me back and forth in time,
For I am a lonely man of this lonely planet. \\

Dear air, let’s acknowledge what’s true.
I am lost, so are you.
I am lost in time but you in space.
So let’s make a deal to heal together:
When I voyage in time to lick scars and lies —
To revive the lyrics of a life —
You play alongside me and compose a mellifluous tune. //

I long to befriend you, another loner, in every fabric of space-time,
For I am a lonely man of this lonely planet. ||
